Zoe Peckich has always had a sweet tooth. Growing up in Canonsburg, the town where Sarris Candies was founded, was a huge inspiration for her love of dessert.

Zoe Peckich won the Food Network's Summer Baking Championship! The Canon-McMillan graduate is a pastry chef at Ritual House in downtown Pittsburgh. She was one of 10 bakers nationwide to be chosen for the competition.

Pascale recognised the need to ensure her future after modelling and embarked on a series of career "try-outs", including hypnotherapy and car mechanics. She took a diploma cookery course at Leith's School of Food and Wine in 2005 and found that cookery fitted her "like a pair of old jeans".

The show is filmed for about a month during the summer at the same studio where adult baking competitions are shot, and nothing is scaled down. The baking stations, equipment and pantry are all standard size. The only concession for kid contestants: They can stand on crates if they're too short to reach the counter.

SI: Oh really? When do you film it? JP: We shoot it in about 10 days in July. So it's the dead of summer, and we're putting on winter outfits and sweaters, filming from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. And you've got all this delicious food you're gobbling down.
